My long-awaited trip to Yosemite is here! I left this morning for the longest drive ever through miles and miles of Nevada sagebrush. I stopped for a minute to appreciate the strange-ness of the Bonneville Salt Flats and their impersonation of a snow covered field. I took a photo, then took a minute to speak to the police officer who pulled up behind me to remind me that a) It is illegal to stop on the freeway for non-emergency purposes, and b) I forgot to put my new registration sticker on my license plate before I left. Fortunately, he was truly Officer Friendly and let me go with just a verbal warning.

Hope the drive through hell went alright. I think we stop at those salt flats every time we drive that direction...
You mean you didn't stop to take a picture of the giant tree in the middle of the Salt Flats???
Funny you should mention the tree. . . That was the only place with a sign saying not to stop. Otherwise I would have for sure.
