To be a kid . . .
Second graders are the best! On Friday in my class, we had a beach party in hopes of feeling warm in the depths of winter. The kids dressed up in shorts and t-shirts, went surfing on their towels, danced to The Beach Boys and sunbathed under drawings of the sun. Older kids would balk . . . adults would balk or just not show up. But second graders . . . they left smiling their biggest smiles and saying that the past half hour was the best time of their entire life. How can you not love that?

We should all be ids again. Life is just to short!
I would have danced and laid out at your party! It sounded like so much more fun than a stuffy dinner party where you have to groom yourself in preparation a week before hand, pick up chocolates on the way over, write a thank you note after, pay a babysitter more than they will spend on your portion of the meal, laugh as if the joke actually was funny, etc...
I totally would have preferred your party!
