A mere 6 weeks ago, I saw life very differently than I do today. I remember driving and thinking things like, "It sure is snowy today" or "I need to remember to pick up milk at the grocery store on the way home." Occasionally, if I saw something interesting I would think "I should blog about this" or I would compose blog posts about the day's events in my head. All that has changed. Five weeks ago, after much prodding and many queries as to if I had joined yet, I decided to enter the world of Facebook. Here is my inner dialogue as I ran a few errands this morning. It is much like all of my inner dialogues these past few weeks.
Daphne is driving through the snow and happy it is melting.
Daphne is stopped at a long red light.
Daphne is annoyed that Circuit City has nowhere to sit, forcing her to wander around and want to spend lots of money on electronics while waiting for her CD player to be installed.
(I wonder what random friends I haven't seen since the late 80's are doing right now. Is Chris Williams still walking or did the snow in Seattle melt?)
Daphne is trying (and failing) to set the new clock in her car.
Daphne is using gift cards and getting fun new stuff.
Daphne is hungry.
(I wonder what random people who I never really knew well but are friends of friends I haven't seen since the late 80's are doing. What is Dawn Burton doing with her hair these days?)
Daphne needs to call Liz about tomorrow. (Are her kids better? Did she get to enjoy their sleeping silence for a good long time or did Diggity wake up before he was supposed to?)
Daphne is at the car wash.
Daphne thinks the car wash is a little like the haunted house at Disneyland.
(I wonder what random friends I haven't seen since the mid 80's are doing for lunch today.)
Daphne thinks the Rock Star Windshield Repair guy hanging out by the vacuums at the car wash is a little creepy.
Daphne is still trying (and failing) to set the clock in her car.
Daphne is having breakfast at noon. Christmas vacation rocks!
Daphne is checking her Facebook account.
Daphne is missing her blog and finally updating it.

Cristine is wondering if the cow on top of the top spot in Cedar City is still there. Maybe she should ask Alan Dunaway who she hasn't seen since the late 80's because he is going to eat there sometime today. Facebook-yikes!!
Ah, I can commiserate! (is that the right word?) I love my blog, and yet I find that I spend so much more of my time on facebook now!! I am also going to make a concerted effort to be a better blogger!!
