I went to have my car serviced today and found a mere skeleton of the Saturn dealership. They will be closing their doors forever on Friday. There were only a few cars on the sale lot. I had my pick of parking spaces near the service department door. As I entered the building, I found offices that had become empty closets. All of the furniture, computers, and other things were boxed up and offered for sale. The worst part was the poster on the wall showing shiny new Saturns, with the caption, "If you're wondering where the car business is headed, it's here." Ouch.
I realize it's a little crazy to be so attached to a car dealership, but, after all, it's my car's original home. Well, after it's "birth" in Tennessee, anyway. OK, it really was only there for half a day after they brought it up from Orem for me, but still . . . I see the place more often than all of the members of my family. We have history. Thanks Saturn for many years of excellent service!
P.S. I'm looking for suggestions for a good place to have my car serviced in the future . . . Any tips?

I remember very clearly the day your bought your car. I am sorry about them closing. It is funny how attached we get to business.
I remember that day as well and the test drive to go along with it:) It is terribly sad to see so many businesses closing thier doors. Also, we have our cars serviced by our local mechanic. We have had really good experiences so far. I am super anti-dealership as I ALWAYS feel ripped off. Certified Automotive is close to you. I have heard great things about them. Their owners host a Saturday morning talk show about car maintenance. You might want to give them a try.
